I make hummus all the time. I just love having it in the fridge as an easy snack, and it’s rare that I don’t have all the ingredients on hand. Baba ghannouj, on the other had, is a little more “special occasion” to me. The ingredients are [...] We were having friends over for dinner, and after planning the menu, I remembered that one of the guests HATES eggplant. I had already bought everything I needed to make this, so I whipped up a batch of hummus to serve along with it, so she would have something [...] I could pontificate for hours about my love of vegetables, but I will spare you the agony. Just know that I love them… pretty much all of them, a lot. I have a rocky relationship with pasta salad. It usually looks so appetizing, but turns out to be nothing more than mushy noodles in bland, overly oily Italian dressing. I haven’t really bothered to make many pasta salads myself because it just didn’t seem like it was worth [...] I LOVE the smoky flavor grilled eggplant brings to baba ghannouj and baingan bartha, but those dishes can be a little heavy. When I saw this recipe linked on Thirty A Week I was immediately inspired. Note: I’m currently in Seoul, waiting for my flight to Bangkok! I will post updates soon, but in the meantime… Moussaka! |
