My family was here last week. That means I got to run with my dad and sister. I got to help my mom with the pop culture-related crossword clues. I got to show them how excited Ellie gets at the aquarium…

And how cool the rainforest exhibit is.

The baby ostriches were SO cute, but Ellie was a little bit afraid of them.

We went out for Eritrean food, which was incredible. I have teff flour and I’ve been meaning to make injera forever, but it’s a five-day process if you want to make the starter the right way, so I keep putting it off.

They left yesterday morning and I think Ellie already misses them. I definitely do.
Totally unrelated: my summer running streak is still going strong! I only ran 1.3 miles yesterday because my legs were completely dead, but I rallied today and ran 6 miles with Ellie in the stroller while Mike ran a half marathon. Crissy Field is SUCH a great place to run!

And I clearly have been having way too much fun with Pixlr-o-matic, my new favorite app.
Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!

Is that the Eritrean place on Geary?? The food there is amazing and that bread is like nothing else I’ve ever had!!!
I love reading about when your family visits.
Yay! I’m happy that you enjoyed the Eritrean food. (I’m Eritrean) Seeing that plate made my mouth water. Yum!
